Basic Safety Training

The Global Wind Organisation Basic Safety Training courses consists of 4 modules. These courses will teach candidates to understand and reduce the risk associated with safety hazards in the wind turbine industry. It is designed to accommodate personnel working both onshore and offshore. These courses will enable candidates to support and care for themselves and others working in the industry by possessing the skills and knowledge of First aid, Working at heights, Manual handling & Fire awareness. Upon completion these courses technicians will be able to work in or near a wind turbine in a safe manner. This accreditation is recognized worldwide by all manufacturers and role players in the

wind turbine industry.

DURATION 16 HOURS • VALID FOR PERIOD OF 2 YEARS

The aim and objectives of the BST first aid module is to enable candidates to administer safe and effective first aid in the wind turbine environment. This course will equip candidates with the skills and knowledge to respond appropriately in the event of an emergency and to follow the correct first aid procedures and use the correct equipment. The candidate will understand the importance of carrying out first aid in a safe manner.
